The duo „YAMUNA,“ formed in 2022 by Leo Asal and „halfpastseven“ (aka Joshua Lutz), combines an avant-garde approach with beats from hip-hop and electronic dance music. In doing so, the two musicians act like a sampler and a drum machine while still striving to maintain a human touch.

 

Music originally generated by and with machines now emerges in real-time. The improvisational exploration of an idea leads to the discovery of new boundaries, the development of fresh ideas, and the reinterpretation of old ones. The audience becomes a part of this search process, simultaneously invited to dance to the driving grooves and listen to the atmospheric sounds.
